50 shades of white: A cross-cultural Polish & New Zealander Wedding at a private property in Andros island, Greece

P & D celebrated their love with 26 cherished guests who traveled all the way from New Zealand, Poland, and London to their destination wedding on the breathtaking island of Andros, Greece. The celebration took place at the stunning private property, Melisses Andros, a haven of tranquility nestled on a secluded hectare of land by the sea. The serene atmosphere of the venue, with the sound of waves crashing against the rocks and the occasional rustle of free-roaming goats and lambs, created an intimate and peaceful retreat. Under a starlit sky, Melisses offered the clearest views of the moon and constellations, perfectly setting the tone for a magical celebration.

The couple exchanged vows during the Catholic ceremony at St. Andrew Church in the charming Chora of Andros. The small, historic church provided an intimate setting for their union, surrounded by love and tradition. Afterward, guests were welcomed back to Melisses with sparkling wine and a delightful array of appetizers by renowned Greek chef Alex, featuring Beef Tartare, home-cured salmon, and tempura cauliflower.

Dinner was served at a single long monastery-style table, beautifully arranged to bring everyone together as one family. The table was adorned with crisp white linens, soft candlelight, mismatched silver cutlery, white porcelain plates, vintage glassware, and rustic wooden chairs, exuding timeless elegance. Each guest’s seating included a personal photograph with a handwritten note from the couple, a touching gesture that moved everyone to tears. As a nod to the couple’s multicultural roots, favors included teas from Poland and New Zealand, blending their heritages beautifully.

The culinary experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Guests savored Sea Bass Tartare, Grilled Octopus, Lamb Shoulder Tortelli, and Ribeye Steak, paired with fine wines and heartfelt toasts that brought laughter and joyful tears. After the speeches, P & D cut their wedding cake to the tune of Sugar by Maroon 5, sharing a sweet and unforgettable moment.

As the night unfolded, the bride changed into a traditional Māori attire, surprising her husband and guests with a mesmerizing dance that paid homage to her heritage. Their first dance, set to Arctic Monkeys’ Baby I’m Yours, was followed by a lively party that continued well into the night. Surrounded by their closest loved ones, the evening was filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories under the starry Andros sky.

P & D, thank you for allowing us to be part of your incredible journey. Your love story, infused with personal touches, heartfelt traditions, and cultural beauty, was nothing short of magical.
